Quinoa Stuffed Bell Peppers

Hi all,

I recently learned about this thing called Quinoa. Apparently it's really good for you so I thought I'd give it a try. I looked up a bunch of Quinoa related recipes on Pinterest. I decided to make this one first:

http://www.thymeoftaste.com/2013/01/23/quinoa-stuffed-bell-peppers/

I tried to make the quinoa in the rice cooker according to its instructions but it soaked up all the water real fast. I added more water then decided to throw in more quinoa. I'm glad I did because I ended up having the perfect amount of mixture for my 4 bell peppers.

In hindsight, I'd add more cheese, perhaps putting it in the bottom of the pepper before adding the quinoa mixture. It tasted pretty good especially with the added avocado.

I'd recommend the recipe. Thanks for reading!

Nail Polish Swatches

I have a bunch of nail polish swatches piling up, so here they are! Thanks for reading~

Sinful Colors Queen of Deco over Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Lacey Lilac.
I wish there were more diamond glitters in the Sinful Colors, but it's still a nice glitter. Lacey Lilac is definitely one of my favorite cremes, it's super opaque and the color is lovely.

Revlon Colorstay Coastal Surf.
A nice sky blue color. It looked more true to color under the flash, though if I remember correctly, it's not quite as bright as it's coming off in the picture.

Orly Space Cadet.
This is definitely one of the coolest polishes I own!

Revlon Colorstay Blue Slate.
These polishes dry so glossy and this one in particular is super opaque!

July Ipsy Bag

Long time no post,

I just got my July Ipsy bag and thought I would share what I got. The theme is "Beach Beauty" and I think they did a good job with that!

List of items:
Sexy Hair - Soy Renewal Beach Spray
It sounds like it could be nice! I'm excited to try

Coola - Tinted moisturizer
It says "Rose essence" on there but it smells like TEA to me! (Probably because it's organic!) It has pretty good coverage but the color is very dark (for me) and kind of orange. It also has shimmer in it, which could be good for the beach (I suppose).

Nailtini - Mai Tai
An orangish-red polish, I'm stoked on this because it's not like any other polish in my collection. The brush looks like a wide standard brush.

BH Cosmetics - California Collection Mini Palette
Hollywood is a matte purple. San Francisco is a bronze with some shimmer. Malibu is a metallic gold. The shadows feel soft although I feel the color payoff could be better.

Pop - Pouty Pop Crayon in Fuchsia Flirt
I was most excited about this one because I like my Revlon Kissable Balm Stains so much! This one is different from those because it's not as glossy when you first put it on. It's definitely more opaque than the Balm Stains, and the color is perfect for the beach since it's so bright! I think I will be wearing this one in the coming weeks.

Revlon Colorstay in Cafe Pink

Hi all,

Today I have Revlon Colorstay polish in Cafe Pink. I picked this one up at Walgreens the other day, since I've been looking for a light pink polish. I've read that light pink polishes are usually crappy formula-wise.

This one took two thick coats to get looking right. It is pretty opaque but goes on kind of streaky. On my other hand I ended up doing three coats and I still didn't think it looked all that good. But the staying power is very good with the Revlon Colorstay Top Coat, so I am glad I made this purchase!

DIY Necklace Organizer

Welcome again to my blog!

Today I have a minimalist super simple DIY necklace organizer. All the materials were purchased from Walmart. I used a blank wooden sign (found in the crafts section) and painted it a couple layers of glossy black using a spongy brush. I used white "cup hangers" in two sizes-- I found these near the light bulbs at Walmart. Drilled some holes and screwed in the cup hangers. I used sawtooth picture hangers to hang it on the wall and it's fairly stable. And voila! Instant minimalist necklace organizer! I've already added a couple necklaces but as you can tell there's not a ton of space left...probably for the better. Thanks for reading!

St. Patrick's Day Manicure

Hello and welcome!!

I'll use any excuse to try some nail art since I need some practice!

Therefore I did this St. Patrick's day manicure. It was pretty easy and fun.

Sorry my ring finger is wounded at the moment. Also the picture is kind of blurry... apparently this is the "High sensitivity" mode on my camera but it seems to always just make blurry pictures (fail on my part or camera's?) From now on I'll stick with the "Intelligent auto" mode, hehe.

Colors used:

China Glaze Four Leaf Clover (more green than it looks in the picture)
Sephora by OPI It's Real 18K Gold Top Coat
